WEEK 4 , REFLECTION

Reflection of week 4
For the reflection of week 4, I can say that this week left a positive image in my mind because of its useful activities. The first types of activities were within the classroom observations that when I attended as a member of the ocean group to observe classes of three different teachers and the successful and impressive ones occurred during the visit to Porvoo campus.
In fact, I had learned that monitoring and observing peers in the field of teaching is very important and I think it is necessary for teachers in one school to exchange visits from time to time.  Shadowing classes build and create critical thinking that reflects the advantages and the disadvantages of the teaching methods applied in a class. Also, shadowing classes help a teacher to improve his/her teaching activities and offer a teacher enough self-confidence.
In addition, I liked the visit to Porvoo campus and I found it something very exciting and interesting because of the people met us in the campus were very friendly, and the campus was well designed, constructed and beautifully equipped and it had a very comfortable furniture. The arrangements of the stuff in classes, and in the whole campus may help a teacher and a student spend most of their time in a happy mood and that atmosphere would be good for both; a teacher and a student to do well in their duties.  In order to be honest and to say the truth, the city tour was also very exciting and we spent a pleasant time touring some places in the city on our feet.

  1. Good to read your reflections on the shodowing experience and how you have benefited from it so far. Just wondering if you sometimes get the chance to be observed in your school, by colleagues from your school or other schools. Or, like in France (not the case in Finland) do you have state "inspectors" coming to observe you every now and then ?

  2. By the way, some questions concerning the HAAGA-HELIA Porvoo campus:
-Do you have campuses similar to the one in Porvoo in Saudi Arabia ?
-If not, what adjustments would be necessary for it to come true ? (I mean not only in terms of facilities but also with regards to a pedagogical model as a backbone of the architectural project)
